Summer’s approaching! We want to highlight some bright decor ideas in time for the long, hot months of the year. Yellow is a great color for creating bright space for sunny rooms or bringing a bit of color to darker rooms using light and color to lighten the mood.
Sometimes a single large yellow item in the room can accent the minor yellows within a mostly neutral room.
Just because you don’t already have furniture that has that brilliant canary hue. You can add some vibrant color to your existing storage spaces with inventive use of similarly-shaped storage devices at hand. Think outside, then inside, then INSIDE the box.
Other times you don’t have space to work with so you have to make your color count. Tie the corners of your room together with bright yellow accents so all your little nick-nacks blend into the background.
Remember, if your room has a primary yellow tone, it is good to ground your setup with an accenting color. Black and white are great for doing this with yellow.
Sometimes if you’re experts (like us) you can add new layers of soft color to the yellow theme. Our Canary Room utilizes blue decor and cream-colored furniture to tie all of the color expressions together.
