A long time ago in, well, THIS galaxy, Star Wars hit the big screen – forever changing the appeal of science fiction within pop culture. We’re all nerds of some kind here at myWebRoom, so we didn’t want to let this unofficial holiday go unobserved.
Star Wars has been a part of the collective consciousness for 37 years, affecting how we feel about space travel, movie special effects, and fatherhood. We all have our own opinions about the Wars series. Original series or prequels? Does Darth Vader redeem himself or not? Who shot first – Han or Greedo? These are all debatable (Original/no/Han), but one thing we can all agree on is the fact that Star Wars is awesome.
Ever since Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, May The 4th has become ever more important. The Star Wars legacy hasn’t ended. There is a new era of Star Wars waiting to happen on the big screen. Sure, we’ve always had novels, comic books, video games, fanfiction, cartoon series and trading card games – but Star Wars was born on the big screen and hasn’t been seen there in almost a decade. Luckily, there’s a new hope – and possibly a new war brewing.
Familiar faces from the original series met recently to do a reading of some of the upcoming as-yet titled Star Wars film in pre-production, brought to us by legendary sci-fi director J.J. Abrams. It’s been confirmed that actors Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), and Harrison Ford (Han Solo) will reprise their roles in the new Wars film, which is said to take place about 40 years after the events in “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.”
Abrams has taken on giant monster films, action films, and even a reboot of the Star Trek movie franchise to modest success. This could be his greatest challenge yet.
We here at myWebRoom feel a kinship to the Star Wars series. As our company grows and our service gets better and better with more partners, an upcoming new and improved shop, and updated image quality on our WebRooms, we know this year is the launching pad for even greater achievements for our fantastic website.
We’re excited to announce the the release of a great collection of Star Wars items for you to add to your WebRooms! You now can choose from some great wall decor like the giant Leia, Han, C3pO, and stormtrooper decals – along with the adorable bathroom lesson posters. Also in the new collection is the stormtrooper wall clock, R2-D2 bag and portable speaker, and a variety of other great Warsy items.
Our site is meant to be your personal home on the internet and we want it to reflect your tastes in every corner of your WebRooms – both in the objects styles you choose and the websites you link to your decor.
We hope you have a great Star Wars day and, of course, may the Force be with you.
